Mark Anderson is an accomplished musician with experience in teaching, composing, arranging, and performance in classical, jazz, and electronic music. Mark studied classical guitar for eight years under the instruction of Croatian born guitarist Miroslav Loncar. He currently holds a B.A. in jazz performance from the University of New Orleans and studied guitar under the instruction of Steve Masakowski and Hank Mackie. Mark has attended master classes with Nicholas Payton, Sid Jacobs, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Carl Allen, Russell Batiste, Philip Catherine, Howard Alden, Ron Miller, Barry Greene, Dave Stryker, Lee Konitz, Stefon Harris, Russell Malone, and Terence Blanchard.

During his UNO studies, Mark spent a semester as an exchange student at the Conservatory for Music and Dance in Rotterdam, Netherlands. At the Rotterdam Conservatory, he studied guitar technique with Ed Verhoeff, improvisation with Paul Hock, chordal harmony with Ronald Schmitz, tango guitar with Kay Sleking, brazilian and bossa nova guitar with Maurice Rugebregt, Latin arranging with Jan Laurens Hartog, and jazz composition with Kris Goessens.

In addition to Mark's current gigging and teaching schedule, he still finds time to compose music and create sound design for freelance video projects. He uses the following computer software: Ableton Live 6.0, Reason 3.0, Finale 2006 and LogicPro.
